Axial Piston Compressor

Overview

The most common type of compressor used in refrigerators is the reciprocating compressor due primarily to its ease of production. However, the rotational shaft motion of such compressors result in mechanical loss, noise and vibration; reciprocating compressors also require a large number of parts and significant radial size. The above disadvantages of reciprocating compressors are aggravated when such compressors are used with modern high pressure refrigerants. The present invention is an axial piston compressor without a connecting rod that results in greater efficiency, lower cost, less noise and fewer parts.
