Overview

Background
iOS applications are widely accepted and used in many everyday functions. Auditory experimentation and testing are used in K-12 and higher education, as well as while conducting various research experiments.
Innovative Technology
Researchers at the University of Maryland’s Center for Advanced Study of Language designed an iOS application that can deliver auditory stimuli, such as words or other sounds, in a pre-programmed order, and asking the test subject to write what they heard in a specific location. This application can be used to test various knowledge base: musical notes, animal sounds, spelling. Another possible use for this application is hearing test.

· Can be used to test a wide variety of knowledge base
· Accessible to many via any iOS device [Need to confirm this—does app work on on iphone only or iPhone, iPad, and iPod?]
Application
· Preschool education
· K-12 education
· Hearing test
· Research laboratories
