Overview

Divergent thinking is the ability to flexibly generate useful alternative solutions to a problem. This is a core competency that is required of all intelligence community (IC) language and intelligence analysts.

The University of Maryland Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL) has created an interactive one-day course that teaches analysts cognitive strategies to improve their divergent thinking, based on insights from the existing research literature.
